Kris Lawson
Greg and Kris moved to Moree from Sydney in 1986 to pastor the local Foursquare Church, then called Calvary Chapel. They had two girls Sarah and Esther, aged 5 and 2 respectively. Jared was added to the family in 1991. As adults, the children all settled in Sydney after having gone there for tertiary studies. The grandchildren count is three – with hopefully more to come.
When the children were little Kris primarily concerned herself with mothering and church work. When Jared reached preschool Kris began casual work at Courallie High School and continued working there until the amalgamation of the two high schools. This initiated a move to Moree Christian School where Kris continues to teach now. Teaching, be it school or church, is one of life’s great joys for Kris. To be able to help people take the Word of God and live it out for the well-being of themselves, their family and others is an incredible privilege with eternal rewards.
Erin Strahan
Erin Strahan is a born again Christian, who is married to Paul, and together have 5 children. She has no doubt that God’s Word is good, right and completely trustworthy. Growing up in a family that were long term missionaries, Erin got a glimpse into the power of God, through Jesus to transform and restore the lives of sinners. She was about 15 when she realised that the same power she saw at work in people’s lives transforming them, was available to her, through surrendering her life to Jesus. Jesus changed her life from the inside out. One afternoon at the age of 16 God, gave her a vision of a ministry centre that would serve the disadvantaged children and families through community counselling, education and family support ministries.
Erin moved from New Zealand to Moree to work at the Moree Christian School in January 2006. In February 2006, Erin and Paul went on their first date and they realised that night that God had been working the same vision in both of them and God was calling them to serve Him in this way. Since that moment in Mary Brand Park, God has opened up so many opportunities to share this gospel message of hope, forgiveness and restoration and work towards seeing this vision come to fruition! This is what Erin does now, and hopes to be doing when the Lord takes her home, or He returns!
